Why Shout?

Industry leaders say “location is an unsolved problem”. We are here to solve it.

Backed by influential investors from US and Hong Kong, and powered by organisations such as The Open Data Institute, Sport England, and The University of Manchester, we have developed a platform which is on a mission to redefine location discovery.

Our team consists of former senior-level employees of Microsoft and Google, but the company also works closely with world-class organisations such as ODI. This includes collaboration on the upcoming W3C Opportunity Data specification.

At Shout we love people who take ownership of their work, execute to high standards, like to learn new things and are not afraid to step outside of their comfort zone. We’re in a very dynamic environment – accelerators, investors, startups and top-notch tech. Our mission is to build the world’s first operating system for location. What’s yours?

Life at Shout

We are based in Manchester Science Park’s new Tech Incubator and we’re in a neighbourhood of innovation, retail, great coffee and trendy food. As a member of the co-working space, we’re part of an exciting startup community and have access to many interesting events.

You can’t make a local discovery app without discovering your city – so we do it. Events, bars, festivals and crazy all-nighters (in the office). Your Friday night is always covered.

Tech and creative roles

Our approach is to build your role around your interests rather than to change your interests to fit the role. You will have a lot of freedom choosing technologies and projects you want to focus on.

By joining our team, you will be involved in end-to-end software development process based on cutting-edge tech, including Xamarin, TypeScript, MongoDB and the high-performance open-source .NET Core platform. Our back-end infrastructure is based on Microservices and we have developed a patentable database middleware for real-time geo-spatial data processing in collaboration with The University of Manchester.
